BNBF Centrals 2011 Review

On Sunday 31^st July I attended my second ever bodybuilding show, this time it was the BNBF Centrals in St Albans and again I was supporting my brother Chris. The weather was great so after packing my food for the day I headed over to the show at around 1130am to make sure Chris was ok and he had all the support he needed.

Chris decided to compete in the Mr classes rather than the novice class to see how he compared to the more experienced bodybuilders but sadly he was put in the middleweight class with a weight of 71.8kg. I think if he was a kg of so lighter he would have been in the lightweights, so he was up against bigger guys that could have been 4 or 5kg heavier.

I think this knocked his confidence at first but he soon regained his focus and got his act together.

He was first out in the pre-judging and his lower body matched everybody on stage and his calves were bigger than all of them, but he lacks in upper body size but I thought his condition would see him with a top 3 place at the least.

In the main show each competitor went through their routines and for me this was the best part of the day with some great individual performances. After a few poses and a pose down the top 3 were about to be announced……

Eddie Abbew, an IFBB Pro said to me he thought Chris would place second but he placed 3^rd, a great achievement for his first natural show and with a little bit more size and a little tighter condition he will do really well next year. Also he got given a British qualification form so overall a great result.

 

Well done to everybody who competed and I hope to compete next year if I can diet down enough, have to wait and see.
